Which part has failed?
A Switch OLED setup includes the HEG-001 console, removable Joy-Con controllers and a dock. A controller fault can sit in the Joy-Con or rail; a television-output fault can involve the dock, cable or console. Testing these pieces separately changes which part is worth buying. The OLED console also differs internally from the original Switch, so LCD-model parts should not be assumed to fit.
Screen and other repairs
iFixit has OLED-specific guides for the battery, fan, game-card reader, rails and screen. The bonded display is fragile, and charging-port work may need specialist service. Nintendo provides repair options and regional prices; a quote should identify whether it covers the handheld, dock or Joy-Con.
Used-console condition
Test charging, touch, game-card reading, both Joy-Con rails and docked output. Inspect the screen while a game is running to distinguish surface scratches from panel faults. Save data has game-specific backup rules, so confirm what can be preserved before mail-in service.
