The A16 iPad has separate guides for the front glass and the display beneath it, as well as its battery and front camera. A cracked surface is not automatically a failed display.
What to check before buying
Front damage
iFixit separates the front glass digitizer from the LCD image panel. A shattered touch layer and an LCD that no longer shows an image are different parts. The front-glass guide reuses a procedure developed on the preceding generation, so its model notes matter.
Battery and model identity
The battery also has an exact-model replacement guide. Apple identifies this generation as iPad (A16); its Wi-Fi and cellular variants have model numbers A3354, A3355 and A3356. Earlier numbered iPads use their own parts and instructions.
